 Ultrasound is a safe, non-invasive imaging test that uses sound waves to create real-time images of the internal structures of the body. It does not use radiation. 

Yes. Ultrasound is considered very safe for both adults and babies. It uses sound waves, not X-rays or radiation.

Sonolife Ultrasound Studio is a self-pay office and we do not accept insurance at this time. A physician's order is not required, but it is recommended for diagnostic exams.

Most exams range from 15-45 minutes, depending on the type of exam.

Preparation varies by exam:

• Pelvic / Early pregnancy: Drink water and arrive with a full bladder.
   
• Abdominal: Avoid eating 6–8 hours before your exam.
   
• Vascular / OB / Soft tissue: Usually no prep.
  Your appointment confirmation will include specific instructions

Absolutely! We want our patients to feel as comfortable as possible. We welcome family and guests.

• Diagnostic studies: A board-certified radiologist reviews your scan. Results are normally available within 24–72 hours.
   
• Elective scans: No medical results—these sessions are for bonding and keepsakes only.

Yes! Gender can usually be seen starting at 18 weeks, depending on baby’s position and cooperation.

Sonographers are not allowed to share diagnostic information with patients. For diagnostic studies, a radiologist will review the images and your provider will discuss any findings and next steps with you.
